Our Story

Our love of robots brought us to work together at Aldebaran, on the then-secret project 'Juliette', that later came to be known as Pepper, "The First Emotional Robot" - a fancy marketing term for a robot designed to interact naturally with people, and that it did quite well - Pepper was a worldwide success!

We have also worked on other robots at Aldebaran and at United Robotics Group (A cross-European company that later bought Aldebaran), especially NAO for the education market, but also delivery robots for hotels, restaurant, and industry.

The three of us decided to create RoboHearts to bring our vision and expertise on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) and AI to all robots. Stay tuned to hear more!

Our Team

Emile Kroeger

Co-Founder; Product & AI

Emile has been working on NAO & Pepper since 2013, making applications and teaching others how to make good robot applications. He has also worked as a Game Designer, a Game Programmer, a Univeristy Lecturer; has given training sessions and talks on Robotics and AI, workshops for kids and students of all ages, and ran cutting-edge robot demos on live TV.

Taylor Veltrop

Co-Founder; Robotics

Taylor has been working on robots since forever, and NAO since 2010. He knows everything about Pepper, and created Autonomous Life, the system giving Pepper organic behavior with that special wow-effect, whatever is running. He has made several telepresence applications for NAO and Pepper, and was building his own humanoid, the Veltrobot, before it was cool.

Alain Hui Bon Hoa

Co-Founder; Sales & Business

Alain has been working at the intersection of innovation, technology and business since the days of his PhD (in AI). He joined Aldebaran/Softbank Robotics to support the global launch of the Pepper robot in 2014, and has since then remained in the AI/robotics space. He built global service organisations and led Product and Business Development teams to drive robot sales into new markets. He's adept in understanding the genuine customer needs and matching the technology to create compelling solutions.
